By Mahek Tanna

Celebrate Ganesh Chaturthi with the sweet taste of homemade saffron and coconut modak. Using a mixer grinder makes preparation easy and efficient.

Gather these ingredients:

– Fresh coconut – Saffron strands – Jaggery (or sugar) – Ghee – Cardamom Nuts (optional) Visual: Clear and attractive display of ingredients in bowls, with labels for each item.

Start by grinding the fresh coconut in your mixer grinder until it’s finely shredded.

Soak a few saffron strands in warm water or milk to release their color and flavor.

In a pan, melt ghee and add jaggery. Stir until it dissolves, then mix in the ground coconut, saffron, and cardamom.

Continue to cook and stir the mixture until it thickens and begins to pull away from the sides of the pan.

Let the mixture cool slightly, then shape it into small modak molds or by hand. Press gently to form.
